As part of the second stage of the second season of School Sports Games, more than 1400 students from various emirates participate. They will compete in six types of sports, including jiu-jitsu, archery, judo, athletics, badminton, and archery. This reflects the success of competitions in engaging sports talents and strengthening the culture of school sports.
Competitions will extend to April of this year, in which selected students will compete in 12 different types of sports. The winners will proceed to the final stage in May, where gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded. Football competitions will start tomorrow, followed by badminton and athletics competitions among girls, while the remaining competitions will take place weekly until the finalists are determined.
It is expected that the number of participants will exceed 5000 students by the end of the season. The events are organized with the participation of the Unified School and University Sports Association, the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education, the National Olympic Committee, as well as a number of sports unions and educational institutions aimed at supporting young talents and achieving the goals of the National Sports Strategy 2031. This strategy is aimed at preparing more than 30 Emirati athletes for the 2032 Olympics.
