
Yesterday, the brigade of the national team of OAE returned from the velodrome after participating in two Asian championships in road and track cycling that took place in Thailand and Malaysia over 24 days. In the Asian championship in road cycling held in Thailand, the team managed to win two medals (gold and silver), as well as three medals in the Asian championship in track cycling in Malaysia.
Upon returning, the brigade was welcomed by the president of the cycling union, engineer Mansur Buasseybka, the general secretary of the union, doctor Yaser al-Duhai, and the director of the department of competitive sports of the Ministry of Sports Abdulahiz al-Husan, as well as several relatives of the athletes.
The president of the union met with the athletes, congratulated them on their achievements and emphasized that what has been achieved is just the beginning, and that the team will strive for presence and competition in every tournament they participate in. He noted that the team's current goal is to implement the Canadian training plan for achieving the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
