Bodybuilding Training During Ramadan

National bodybuilding coach Zuweid Salem Al-Zaabi advises athletes to focus on maintaining flexibility during Ramadan rather than intense training. He emphasizes proper nutrition and caution post-Ramadan to prevent injuries.

Bodybuilding Training During Ramadan

The bodybuilding team manager Zuaid Salmin Al-Zuabi mentioned that engaging in sports during the month of Ramadan should be exclusively for maintaining the level of physical fitness and flexibility among athletes, not for heavily training or preparing for competitions. Since the conditions of the post and changes in nutrition and sleep during daily hours are extremely unfavorable for the body. **

According to his words, one should refrain from intensive training, as they may adversely affect health and physical fitness, both before and after the food intake. Bodybuilding trainers are not responsible for the recommendations provided to the athletes regarding safe engagement in sports during the holy month of Ramadan, located in the sports hall, to consult athletes and answer their questions.

"Bodybuilding practice until the Iftar should be moderate to maintain flexibility and physical fitness, and not exceed 30 minutes. The most suitable types of sports for post-fasters are walking and regular exercises, which do not require significant loads," he added.

Due to nutrition, Zuaid emphasized the necessity of consuming proteins and carbohydrates in the diet of athletes during the month of Ramadan, so that the first food intake is moderate, while the main nutrition is best performed on Suhoor. He emphasized that for bodybuilders it is important to have enough sun and regular hydration of liquids.

Zuaid mentioned that returning to training after the end of Ramadan should be gradual to avoid injuries. An uneven distribution of time for training should be avoided. He indicated that training in the hall should necessarily be in a group for mutual support during busy times and to exchange information on proper physical activity during the holy month, and also for the necessity to consult with a doctor for athletes with chronic ailments.
