Kozmin Olario Appointed UAE National Team Coach

The UAE Football Association has officially appointed Romanian Kozmin Olario as the head coach of the national team for two years, aiming for World Cup qualification. Olario replaces Paulo Bento, who was let go due to poor results in the World Cup qualifiers. The national team faces crucial matches in June against Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The Football Association of the ROA announced the appointment of Cosmin Olario to the position of head coach of the national team for two years.

Cosmin Olario, coach of Shardja, has been officially appointed as the head coach of the ROA team with a contract for two years after the departure of the Portuguese Paulo Bento. "The Football Association of the ROA has signed a contract with coach Cosmin Olario for the position of head coach of the national team for two years," - says the statement on the official website of the federation. This decision was made after Bento's dismissal due to unsatisfactory results of the team at the qualifying stage of the 2026 World Cup.

Olario was born in 1969 in Bucharest, Romania, and began his football career in several Romanian clubs, among which stands out the team "Universitatea Craiova". He played as a defender, distinguished by strength and physical preparation, leadership qualities, and a fighting spirit. After finishing his playing career, Olario took up coaching.

The ROA team awaits two important matches in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, where they are set to face teams from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. At the moment, the ROA team occupies third place in the group, trailing Uzbekistan and Iran.

Cosmin Olario has previously successfully coached several clubs in the ROA, among them "Shardja", "Al-Ain", and "Shabab Al-Ahly". His extensive experience in the region allows hoping for positive changes in the game of the national team under his leadership.
