UAE Weightlifting Team Heads to China for 2025 Asian Championship

The UAE national weightlifting team embarks on a journey to China to compete in the 2025 Asian Championship, featuring 201 athletes from 28 countries. The event takes place in Jiangshan from May 9 to 15.


UAE Weightlifting Team Heads to China for 2025 Asian Championship

The fighting team of the national heavy athletics team is heading to China today to participate in the 2025 Asian Championship, which will take place in the Chinese city of Czyanshan from May 9 to May 15 of the current year. A total of 201 athletes (89 women and 112 men) from 28 countries will compete. The composition of the national team includes 5 athletes: Muayed an-Nazar (over 109 kg), Az ad-Din al-Ğafari (109 kg), Zakhra al-Bashimi (49 kg), Isa al-Bulashi (81 kg), and Mi al-Mudni (59 kg).

The president of the fighting team and the acting director of the federation, Mukhammed Khamis an-Nakbi, stated in a press release: "Our participation in the Asian championship is part of the federation's efforts to promote participation in regional, continental, and international events, as well as to compete in the heavy weight category and improve the results of our athletes." He also added: "The federation supports OAƏ's participation in the annual overall Asian assembly, which we hope will achieve new solutions in the interests of developing sports and national federations."
