Yesterday, the falconry competition of the Faza tournament kicked off in the Ashush area on the Dubai‑Al Ain road.
Participants from various regions of the country highlighted the event’s popularity, positioning it as one of the region’s leading heritage‑based falconry contests.
The tournament runs until January 7 and is scheduled in two daily sessions—morning and evening—to accommodate the large field of competitors.
“We are delighted by the wide participation and see it as proof of growing enthusiasm for this traditional sport, underscoring its cultural importance,” said Rashed Harb Al‑Khoni, head of the Faza Tournament Committee, adding that the high turnout motivates further development and higher organisational standards.
The organising committee guarantees fair competition, providing full resources and a skilled panel of judges to uphold the highest standards and preserve the authenticity of this heritage sport.
