The United Arab Emirates Olympic football team lost to Vietnam 2-3 in extra time during the quarter-finals of the AFC U-23 Championship on Friday. The match took place at Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. Despite the loss, the UAE team put up a strong fight, demonstrating high seriousness and fighting spirit, proving to be a worthy opponent for Vietnam. Vietnam took the lead in the 39th minute through a goal by Nguyen Ly Fat, but the UAE equalized in the 42nd minute with a goal from Junior N'dai. Vietnam scored their second goal in the 62nd minute with a header from Nguyen Dinh Bach, but the 'Al-Abda' managed to equalize again in the 68th minute with a powerful header from Mansour Said. In the first half of extra time, Vietnam scored the winning goal in the 101st minute through a goal by Pham Minh Bok.
