The UAE Basketball Federation announced that the national team has important upcoming commitments, starting with the Gulf Games in Qatar next May and the Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be hosted by the UAE in August. Abdulatif Naser Al-Fardan, President of the Basketball Federation, confirmed that the strength of competition and rivalry witnessed in this season's men's basketball league will positively reflect on the national team's level as it prepares for the upcoming events. Yesterday, Al-Ahli's youth team was crowned league champion after defeating Al-Nasr 88-77 in the second leg of the final, concluding a season characterized by a high technical level and strong competition between clubs. Al-Fardan stated that Al-Ahli's title was well-deserved, given the team's exceptional performance throughout the season. He added that the level shown by Al-Nasr and Al-Ahli in the final reflects the development of UAE basketball, expressing his hope that this progress will translate into better results for the national team in future competitions. He also noted a significant improvement in the level of competition compared to last season. The Basketball Federation is working to enhance this progress by organizing four local men's competitions, in addition to continuous cooperation with clubs that have shown great interest and support for the sport. Al-Fardan added that the federation is one of the first sports associations to develop its technical and administrative system by organizing a technical conference bringing together coaches, administrators, and game supervisors. The aim is to exchange experiences and formulate a shared vision that will help create a clear roadmap for the next season. The federation president indicated that this conference will be held periodically. It was recently held in Khor Fakkan for youth team coaches, with plans to extend these meetings to men's team coaches after the season ends, thereby supporting development plans and elevating the level of basketball in the country.
