New Leagues Revive Hope for Local Players

The establishment of the Second and Third Division leagues in the UAE provides a vital opportunity for local players and enhances competition, fostering talent development and sustainability in football.

New Leagues Revive Hope for Local Players

New leagues of the second and third divisions, created by the Federation of Football of the United Arab Emirates three years ago, have begun to bear fruit. Sportsmen note that these tournaments have become an important platform for talented local players who previously had no opportunity to showcase themselves. They also provide an opportunity for the promotion of foreign footballers from other countries.

According to sportsmen in a conversation with the newspaper 'Emirates Today', the success of these tournaments depends on the availability of good football fields for the clubs participating in them and ensuring players comfortable conditions in all areas. Tournaments have become an important element in the development of football in the country, given the strengthening of rules and support from the organizational side to ensure the desired success.

The second division includes 15 teams, while the third division consists of 18 teams, led by the teams Al-Ittihad and City, and Deba al-Fujairah respectively. The Football Federation has allowed clubs participating in other tournaments to take part in these leagues, which contributes to the increase in the number of teams, tournaments, and matches, reflecting the development of football in the Emirates.

The former coach of the Zayed club, Mohamad at-Tandji, believes that the creation of two leagues in the second and third divisions contributes to professional and organizational development of the higher division, inspiring players who previously sat on the bench for the opportunity to participate in official matches. He emphasizes the importance of supporting regulations that promote sustainability and stresses the need for the presence of observers at matches, as well as conducting matches on approved fields with good facilities for players.

There is a growing need for support to enhance the effectiveness of the work of the new leagues and to utilize all positive aspects for the expansion of the football base in the country, as noted by another experienced coach Omar al-Hamadi. He calls for strengthening technical and administrative regulations to support current progress and reduce the complexities that teams and players face. He expresses confidence that the new tournaments will become significant in the coming years, serving as additional support for success.

Ex-international player and experienced figure at the current Al Shabab club Ammar ad-Duhai highly values the organization of championships of the second and third divisions, emphasizing their importance in local football. He calls for patience and support for these leagues from the sports community and the Football Federation for their further development and success, taking into account their positive experience abroad.
