
Six years have passed since the adoption of the decision on allowing residents, children of citizens and citizens of the host country to participate in large-scale sports competitions of all kinds. This decision has brought with it positive consequences that have strengthened the country’s sports achievements at all levels. The decision helped stimulate community members to send their children to various sports events, which contributed to an increase in the number of participants in various public and official sports games.
As a result, various sports clubs in the country received new participants from these categories, leading to an unprecedented integration into various sports tournaments. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in the presence of representatives of these categories at sporting events, particularly evident in football, which indicated an increase in the number of participants in various competitions and support for national teams at all levels for participation in continental and world championships.
The decisions of organized teams and federations filled football clubs with dozens of players, especially residents, who have become a permanent link in the successes of these teams, as well as national teams at all age categories, which contributed to the identification of talents and their full utilization to achieve set goals.
Sports officials emphasize that one of the most significant achievements that have been made thanks to this decision is the discovery of new sports talents, which significantly help in the development of sports in the country in various disciplines and represent a significant contribution to the enrichment of this experience.
Saeed Al Kaabi, President of the OAE Archery Federation, stated that the participation of residents, children of citizens and citizens of the host country in the emirate’s sports started to bear fruit. He noted that many athletes showed a high level of mastery and made a substantial contribution to the development of sport in the OAE.
