The Ajman Chamber of Commerce organized an event titled 'Sustainability in the Industrial Sector' to announce the launch of the first phase of the Eco Smart Industry initiative. The event highlighted best practices and expertise in rationalizing consumption, conserving resources, and recycling, affirming the Chamber's responsibility to drive the industrial sector towards a sustainable and balanced future that aligns with environmental and economic developments and production growth. The event was attended by Mohammed Ali Al-Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector; Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Member Affairs Department; and Abdullah Abdul Mohsin Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Government Communications Department at the Ajman Chamber, along with owners and officials from more than 20 factories operating in the emirate, at the Fairmont Ajman hotel. Mariam Al-Nuaimi, the initiative's head and head of the Marketing and Corporate Communications Department at the Ajman Chamber, provided a comprehensive explanation on how factories can participate in the Eco Smart Industry initiative. She outlined the steps for registration and joining the first phase, the criteria for assessing environmental readiness, and what the initiative offers for daily interaction to measure capabilities in sustainability, energy rationalization, and resource conservation. She added that the initiative serves as an interactive platform to showcase best practices in industrial sustainability, track constructive proposals, and exchange experiences among participating entities, which helps in developing innovative, applicable solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement towards more efficient and sustainable performance. The event witnessed the official launch of the Eco Smart Industry initiative and the start of factory registration and participation in the first phase, reflecting the positive engagement from the industrial sector and its readiness to apply more efficient and sustainable production practices.
