Dubai will introduce a flexible toll system with varying rates based on peak hours to improve traffic flow. Charges range from AED 4 to AED 6, helping to optimize road use.

New Flexible Toll System in Dubai

Tomorrow, January 31, Salik will begin to implement a flexible toll system at all gates, excluding the holy month of Ramadan. As part of this initiative, the peak hour tariff will be 6 dirhams from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, while the remaining times - from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM - will be 4 dirhams. The interval from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM will remain free of charge. Such changes in toll charges have become part of a broader plan for improving road traffic in Dubai.

"Our goal is to alleviate traffic on the roads of the emirate and improve overall traffic flow. The flexible tariff plan will allow for better utilization of infrastructure and distribution of traffic loads on roads depending on time of day," - noted the representative of Salik.

"The cost of travel on weekends will be 4 dirhams throughout the day, excluding public holidays and special events. The new system will help reduce congestion and ensure more comfortable travel for all participants in road traffic," - added Salik.
