Stability in Prices During Ramadan Confirmed by Ministry of Economy

The Ministry of Economy confirmed that it did not receive any requests from suppliers regarding price increases during the holy month of Ramadan. This, according to them, contributes to the stability of prices for goods during Ramadan, when demand sharply rises.

Assistant Undersecretary for Control and Commercial Management at the Ministry of Economy, Safia Hashim al-Safi stated at the "Emirates Today" press conference held in Dubai "Cooperative Union", yesterday, with the participation of the Ministry of Economy, that overall price stability in local markets is especially important after the latest initiative on price formation and control of basic consumer and essential goods.

Safi noted that the Ministry conducts joint meetings with key trading points in the country and with traders from various sectors to coordinate initiatives for price formation and reductions in prices.

In turn, the "Cooperative Union" launched its advertising campaign for Ramadan 2025, focusing on supporting community welfare through the provision of major discounts on more than 5000 products and goods, both consumer and non-consumer, with discounts of up to 60%.

The Executive Director of the cooperative, Muhammad al-Hashimi, noted that the campaign corresponds to the "Year of Community" announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the country, may God protect him, adding that discount proposals started to take effect yesterday and will last until the end of Ramadan.

He also noted that the initiative of discount proposals is not limited only to the provided products at reduced prices, but will also continue the initiative for price stabilization on essential goods, including more than 200 selected products, changing monthly, including such essential goods as rice, meat, poultry, canned foods, and some high-demand products during Ramadan.

He emphasized that the cooperative has created a large stock, sufficient for actions until the end of Ramadan, to satisfy the growing consumer demand this month, noting that the cooperative works on supporting local economic initiatives through collaboration with local farms through partnerships with 42 local farms to provide fresh organic products, satisfying community needs and contributing to the sustainable development of local production.

Al-Hashimi noted that nationalization is a priority of the strategy of the "Cooperative Union", where attention is given to creating jobs for citizens and supporting the national specialists through training programs to improve the qualifications of Emirati workers in various areas of activity within the cooperative.

He emphasized that the cooperative is included in the "National Live Initiative", which includes the participation of citizen personnel in public service, where they are trained and work in the cooperative, sharing their experience in solving extraordinary situations, such as crises and emergencies.
