The Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, conducted field visits to cooperative societies and retailers in Dubai to ensure stable prices and availability of essential goods ahead of Ramadan.

During a visit to a number of local outlets, the Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Tukhish Al Mari visited a series of consumer cooperatives and commercial points in the states and conducted an inspection of the Cooperative Union in Dubai, "Lulu Hypermarket" and five large diverse commercial points, to ensure price stability on goods and their availability in sufficient volumes to meet consumer needs ahead of the upcoming blessed month of Ramadan.

The Ministry of Economy stated that these visits are part of efforts to ensure compliance with the laws and policies protecting consumer rights and their implementation in the country. In particular, regulating the new pricing policy for the nine essential consumer goods, which presumes preliminary agreement with the Ministry when setting prices.

The Minister of Economy pointed out that thanks to the wise directives of the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, today there exists a favorable legislative environment for the protection of consumer rights based on the world's best practices. He emphasized that these visits are aimed at strengthening ties with traders and suppliers, raising awareness of consumer behavior and his role in providing the success of the new pricing policy.

During the inspection, the minister checked the availability of goods, particularly essential products, for which demand increases during Ramadan, and also listened to the opinions of buyers regarding price stability. The Ministry of Economy noted that visits were accompanied by positive cooperation with retail points in exchanging information about consumer goods and their sustainable availability, as well as the importance of offering discounts and promotions for consumers during Ramadan.

The ministry highlighted the role of the consumer in controlling cooperation with regulatory bodies and constant communication with the ministry through accessible channels for submitting complaints, reporting harmful commercial practices, proposals, and ideas aimed at developing consumer rights protection in the country through number (8001222).
