Results of market research conducted by "Emirates Today" in various retail outlets in Dubai and Sharjah showed the presence of about 53 brands of dried fruits of different types in the local market. The study indicated a significant diversity of sources supplying dried fruits, noting that a significant portion of the production comes from countries such as Turkey, the USA, and Iran, as well as domestic production specific to local markets.

Experts in the field of retail for "Emirates Today" noted that dried fruits during Ramadan experience a higher demand, increasing by up to 70% compared to regular periods. They pointed out that the highest demand for dried fruits during Ramadan is concentrated on figs, apricots, raisins, and pomegranates.

Specialists confirmed that local markets are observing a steady increase in the number of brands of dried fruits, which corresponds to various dietary preferences of residents of the country.

The research conducted by "Emirates Today" indicated that dried fruits are sold in various forms: bulk, in plastic or paper bags, as well as in metallic cans. It was also noted that there is a variety of countries supplying dried fruits, among which are Turkey, Iran, the USA, Southern Africa, as well as products with local processing in the UAE, alongside imports from Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, India, the UK, and others.

During Ramadan, demand for dried fruits significantly increases, notably for figs, apricots, and specifically pomegranates. Prices for these products vary depending on the country of origin and the method of drying, for example, sundried products typically have a higher price.

Dried fruits are rich in necessary vitamins and minerals, such as vitamins A, K, iron, magnesium, and calcium, as well as antioxidants that protect the body from various ailments, such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. These products contribute to lowering cholesterol levels, regulating blood sugar levels, improving digestion, and controlling weight.
