The company "Parkn" announced yesterday about its latest collaboration with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in the area of electric vehicle charging. As part of the first phase of the DEWA sustainability initiative, it is planned to install new charging stations with permanent current power (22 kW x 2) at various transportation hubs managed by "Parkn" in the first quarter of this year. Each station will serve two parking vehicles.
It was announced that strategically important locations for the placement of new charging stations will be selected in high-density residential areas, where access to electric vehicle charging points is limited or absent. Users will be able to pay for the electric vehicle charging services and parking fees in one seamless transaction using the "Parkn" app and digital wallet.
This partnership will increase the total number of stations for "green charging" belonging to DEWA, allowing residents and workers in the area to easily access infrastructure for electric vehicle charging. This will enhance the overall effectiveness of end-user travel, in turn contributing to increased utilization of parking spaces located near charging stations, enhancing operational efficiency and potential revenues.
DEWA's Executive Director Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stated: "Our collaboration with 'Parkn' in the installation of 'green charging' stations for electric vehicles is part of our efforts to create modern infrastructure for electric vehicle charging in the emirate of Dubai, providing a seamless experience for users in equipped with modern innovative technologies charging points, which supports the government's efforts in the field of climate change and strengthens Dubai's position as a leading global hub for living, working, and investment."
The General Director of the 'Parkn' company, Mohammed Al Ali, highlighted: "The installation of 'green charging' stations in key locations helps enhance our global service level and opens new opportunities for growth and stimulates the adoption of electric transportation vehicles." He confirmed the commitment of "Parkn" and DEWA to expand the infrastructure for electric transportation.
