EU to End Tariff Suspension on US Products

The international trade conflict between the European Union and the United States reaches a new stage. The European Commission announced that as of April 1, the temporary suspension of import duties on American goods will be lifted, and new countermeasures will be introduced in response to President Donald Trump's decision to increase tariffs on steel and aluminum to 25%. This decision was made after the expiration of previous exemptions and the removal of certain previously excluded and defined products.

According to the statement from the European Commission, the European Union plans to impose tariffs on American goods worth 26 billion euros (28 billion dollars) starting next month in response to the introduction of American tariffs on steel and aluminum.

"Based on our estimates, this should cover the losses inflicted on us by American duties on steel and aluminum," - reported the European Commission.
