Dubai Ranks Among Top Arbitration Hubs Globally

Dubai and the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) ranked high in the GAR 100 Data Report, published by the Global Arbitration Review (GAR), an influential publication in this field. Dubai secured fifth place in the global ranking of the most popular arbitration centers by the volume of cases, ahead of cities like New York and Geneva.

DIAC, operating on a solid legal basis and reliable mechanisms to ensure compliance with arbitration awards, attracts a wide spectrum of complex and high-value disputes. In the last three decades, the center has processed more than 5,000 cases totaling over 100 billion dirhams.

Jehad Kazim, the Executive Director of DIAC, noted that the high positions achieved by Dubai and DIAC reflect the trust of the international business community in the region as a leading arbitration center. DIAC was recognized as the tenth most active arbitration center in the world by the number of cases handled and ninth by the volume of cases, outranking more than 315 arbitration centers worldwide.

Dubai is the only arbitration center in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA), included in the top 10 global rankings. DIAC operates on a strictly structured plan under the supervision of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first deputy ruler of Dubai, deputy prime minister, and finance minister of the UAE.

DIAC continually improves its services, implementing updated arbitration rules, perfecting its arbitration court, and expanding the composition of its board of directors. It is important to emphasize that the center positions itself on the backdrop of the striving Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE, ruler of Dubai, aiming to include DIAC in the top five best arbitration centers in the world.
