According to reports from managers and employees of tourist agencies, airfares have decreased to the lowest levels since the beginning of 2025 for direct flights from the UAE to Arab countries such as Cairo, Alexandria, Oman, Beirut, during the current May. Employees noted that prices for transfers have decreased by 20% in May compared to the first four months of the year due to new capacity in the market, additional flights from airlines, and reduced demand for travel in January, February, and March. They expect price increases at the beginning of June in anticipation of the Eid al-Adha holidays, the start of the summer holidays, and the tourist season.
"Airfares in May of the current year show some reduction compared to the beginning of the year due to promotional actions by airlines and increases in market capacity," said the executive director of the company "Dubai’s Global Travels" Badr Akhli. He added that "the demand for travel is also an important indicator of the average price of tickets." According to him, "compared to last year, the average prices since the beginning of the current year remain at the previous level," and the demand for travel in various directions continues to be strong, as flights maintain high levels of occupancy.
On the other hand, the general director of "STS" in the "Dubai Link" group Salah Mansour noted that the demand for travel remains strong, but has decreased compared to previous months, which is reflected in the reduction of average airfare prices in May to the most popular Arab destinations such as Cairo, Oman, Beirut, and Alexandria. Mansour also added that "the decrease in prices for airfares from the UAE in several Arab directions in May provides passengers a unique opportunity to travel at lower prices than in previous months" and that some travelers are using this moment for short trips or outings on weekends.
The general director of the "Al-Faisal Tourism and Travels" agency Yasin Diab emphasized that prices for airfares to Arab destinations, such as Cairo, Oman, and Beirut, decreased by 20% compared to average prices in the first quarter of the current year. He noted that May is the most expensive month for travel since the beginning of the year. Diab added that airlines at present time are offering promotional actions to stimulate demand and maximize occupancy rates for flights, and that "prices, year after year, have practically not changed, remaining at high levels." He advised travelers to check available offers on various airline websites and compare prices before booking in order to ensure themselves the best deals and opportunities, noting that "promotional actions have strict conditions that must be taken into account."
