Dnata Transitions to Biodiesel Fleet in Dubai

Dnata announced plans to replace its entire fleet of non-electrical transport vehicles with biodiesel for its operations in Dubai. This comes in response to the significant reduction of emissions of greenhouse gases, maintaining operational superiority in one of the world's most important transportation and logistics centers.

The company actively monitors fuel consumption in its fleet using a tracking system for transportation means. It also continually updates logistics maps to ensure optimal distances at airport territories, improving processes during working shifts and on stands, avoiding excess fuel expenditure.

Dnata plans to present its new advanced equipment at the upcoming airport exhibition taking place from May 6 to May 8 in Dubai. The company is working on accelerating the implementation of technologies with zero or low emissions on-site, where airport infrastructure supports this, and collaborates with partners to apply the most effective and prospective solutions.

Dnata's global fleet strategy focuses on gradually eliminating diesel engines and transitioning to electric, hybrid, or hydrogen alternatives, specifically developed for infrastructure and operational conditions of each location.

More than 40% of the vehicles in Dnata's main markets, including Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK, are already operating on electricity. Furthermore, the company actively collaborates with suppliers of biofuels to reduce emissions.

800 new ground handling units are planned to be added to the company's global network by 2025. This plan, totaling 110 million dollars, is part of a broader investment strategy aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing emissions in various processes.

Dnata will receive new equipment under long-term international contracts worth a total of 210 million dollars with leading global manufacturers in 2024 to ensure stable supplies of advanced equipment with low emission levels to support its ambitious growth and sustainability goals.
