«Salik», the exclusive operator of toll gates in Dubai, has signed a cooperation agreement with «Schneider Electric», a company operating in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, and «Vcharge», an operator of electric vehicle charging points, to provide a smart and scalable infrastructure for electric vehicle charging throughout the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration enhances the joint commitment of the three parties to accelerate sustainable urban mobility through electric vehicle charging and to support the UAE's national electrification agenda.
According to a statement issued yesterday, under this agreement, «Schneider Electric» will provide advanced electric vehicle chargers through its distribution partner «Vcharge» to ensure a seamless user experience. The chargers will be integrated with «Salik»'s electronic wallet, allowing drivers to pay for charging sessions directly from their existing «Salik» accounts, which simplifies the process of charging electric vehicles across the UAE.
Customers can connect directly to the chargers and start a charging session without the need to download applications, using charging cards or interacting with the charging stations.
«Vcharge», the appointed distribution partner for «Schneider Electric» in the UAE, will oversee the deployment and operation of electric vehicle charging systems in more than 1,800 locations across the country, including installation, software integration, and continuous maintenance to ensure the highest levels of operational performance and energy efficiency.
The CEO of «Salik», Ibrahim Sultan Al Hammadi, said: «Our cooperation with «Schneider Electric» represents a significant step in expanding our digital ecosystem to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles».
He added: «By integrating electric vehicle charging with «Salik»'s electronic wallet to facilitate cashless payments, we enhance the convenience for our users and support the UAE's vision for smart and sustainable mobility, in line with the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050».
In turn, the President of «Schneider Electric» for the Gulf region, Amal Shadly, stated: «The transport sector in the UAE is undergoing a radical transformation and rapid development, and this cooperation affirms our joint commitment to accelerating the energy transition by combining «Schneider Electric»'s smart charging technology with «Salik»'s innovative payment system to create a future-ready and scalable infrastructure focused on user needs».
Meanwhile, the CEO of «Vcharge», Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, said: «In partnership with «Salik» and «Schneider», we are transforming electric vehicle charging into a seamless and hassle-free experience.
