Dubai Unveils World's Largest Silver Bar

The DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) unveiled the world's largest silver bar, weighing a record 1,971 kg and certified by the Guinness World Records. The announcement was made during the 13th Dubai Precious Metals Conference, held on November 24. The bar's symbolic weight represents the year the United Arab Emirates was founded, reflecting national craftsmanship and a spirit of innovation. As part of a new strategic initiative, the DMCC plans to tokenize the bar on its 'TradeFlow' platform, making it the first Guinness World Records-listed physical precious metal asset to be converted into a digital asset within a regulated framework. The project is a partnership between 'S Precious Metals', 'Tokenist', and 'Brinkx'. 'S Precious Metals' handled the manufacturing, 'Tokenist' led the tokenization and digital issuance process, and 'Brinkx' is responsible for secure storage and logistics. Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, stated that the 13th Dubai Precious Metals Conference set new records, the most prominent of which was the unveiling of the world's largest silver bar, weighing 1,971 kg and measuring 1.3 meters in length. He added that this initiative reflects the DMCC's mission to connect trade, commodities, finance, and technology, showcasing how physical assets can be tokenized within trustworthy and transparent frameworks. Scott Thiel, Co-Founder and CEO of Tokenist, stated that tokenizing a silver bar weighing 1,971 kg, now in the Guinness World Records to commemorate the founding of the UAE, is not just an honor for his company but a turning point for the real assets sector. This project provides investors with access to a globally valuable asset with greater transparency and across wider geographical boundaries. Sami Abu Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of S Precious Metals, said that manufacturing the world's largest silver bar is a celebration of the craftsmanship, innovation, and ambitious spirit that characterize the UAE, and tokenization opens a new chapter in how to preserve and trade physical value globally. This project follows a strategic partnership announced by DMCC with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) to develop secure and transparent frameworks for tokenized commodities and to pilot projects related to gold, diamonds, and other physical assets. With over 1,500 companies in the precious metals ecosystem and 700 companies specializing in 'Web3' and 'blockchain' within its 'Crypto Centre', the DMCC is reinforcing Dubai's position as a global hub for the tokenization of real-world assets.
