The US-based consulting firm 'Lodging Econometrics' specializing in the real estate sector reported that the number of rooms in hotel projects 'under construction' in Dubai increased by 22% year-on-year by the end of the third quarter of 2025, compared to the same period last year. The firm noted that the emirate is home to 56 hotel projects 'under construction', comprising a total of over 13,900 hotel rooms. The company stated that the number of projects in Dubai also grew by 7%, pointing to the entry of more hotel projects into service in the emirate in recent months. It clarified that the number of hotel projects 'under construction' in the UAE market reached 103 projects, with a capacity exceeding 26,000 rooms, marking a 20% annual increase in the number of projects and a 10% increase in the number of rooms. For the Middle East region, the company said that projects 'under construction' reached an all-time high of 659 projects, comprising more than 163,000 hotel rooms by the end of the third quarter of 2025. It added that the markets of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt collectively account for about 88% of all regional projects 'under construction'. The company also reported that during the third quarter of 2025, the Middle East region opened 20 new hotels with 4,822 rooms, and it expects to open an additional 45 new hotels with 9,531 rooms in the fourth quarter of 2025, bringing the total number of new hotels for the year to 65, with 14,353 rooms in the region as a whole. The firm highlighted that the hotel sector 'under construction' in the region is witnessing strong activity, with 32 new projects announced, totaling 7,184 rooms during the third quarter of 2025, a 7% increase year-on-year.
