Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched two new initiatives, 'Solar Power' and 'Easy Connection', to accelerate the launch of investment projects in the emirate and encourage the adoption of clean energy sources. These efforts align with Dubai's economic agenda 'D33', which aims to boost the emirate's economic growth and solidify its position among the world's best cities, and the '360 Services' policy, which focuses on providing a seamless and proactive customer experience.
'By implementing the 360 Services policy, we continue our commitment to achieving the wise leadership's vision of providing proactive, digital, and integrated services that contribute to facilitating people's lives,' said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA. 'We rely on flexible and effective business models that support Dubai's competitiveness and global leadership in the quality of life and excellence of government services.'
He added that DEWA is enhancing the customer experience by integrating advanced technologies, such as generative AI and data analytics, and achieving the integration of government services, in line with Dubai's government approach to comprehensive integration.
According to Al Tayer, the 'Solar Power' and 'Easy Connection' initiatives have improved internal processes, reducing service steps by up to 75% and completion time by up to 50%. This has brought significant benefits to consultants and contractors and has directly accelerated the launch of investment projects in Dubai. As a result, the annual return on investment has increased by approximately AED 414 million, and the annual savings for customers have exceeded AED 120 million. Furthermore, these efforts have helped raise the customer satisfaction index to 98.9%.
The 'Solar Power' initiative aims to facilitate customers' journey in obtaining solar energy services and connecting photovoltaic systems to DEWA's grid under the 'Dubai Solar' program. The initiative provides a comprehensive digital experience, from submitting applications and reviewing designs to obtaining approvals and achieving connection.
The 'Easy Connection' initiative aims to simplify electricity and water services for contractors, consultants, and investors. DEWA has unified the procedures for electricity and water network connection requests through a single digital platform to save time and effort. Additionally, the platform enables the pre-emptive identification of necessary network modifications, which simplifies the customer's journey to clear, automated, and rapid steps.
