The Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, stated that «the number of passengers through the country's airports last year reached 148 million passengers, and we expect further growth this year, especially as the first ten months of this year recorded up to 128.8 million passengers». He added on the occasion of Union Day: «As we celebrate the 54th anniversary of our union, the air transport system in the UAE is entering a new, more advanced and sustainable phase, with preparations to host and integrate advanced air mobility into the urban transport system, making the UAE one of the leading countries that have achieved this feat and embraced this emerging technology».
