UAE Attracts Over 220,000 New Companies in 2025

Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, revealed that UAE markets attracted over 220,186 new companies from January to November 2025. The Ministry of Economy and Tourism also registered more than 36,000 national and international trademarks, marking a 48.2% growth compared to the same period last year. This reflects the competitiveness and leadership of the UAE's business environment and its strong appeal for investments and projects worldwide. On the occasion of the 54th Union Day, bin Touq highlighted exceptional economic and tourism achievements. The UAE topped economic growth rates in the Gulf, achieving a 4.2% real GDP growth in the first half of 2025. The non-oil sector grew by 5.7%, with non-oil activities contributing 77.5% to the real GDP, confirming the country's growing economic diversification. In tourism, the UAE secured notable international recognition, with Emirati Sheikha Nasser Al Nuaihi appointed as the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. Al Masfoot village was named the world's best tourist village for 2025. The UAE also ranked among the top seven global destinations for international tourist spending. From January to September 2025, hotel establishments hosted 23.27 million guests, a 4.9% increase year-on-year. Hotel revenue rose by 7.2% to AED 35.9 billion. The hotel occupancy rate reached 79.2%, and the average length of stay increased to 3.41 nights, indicating stronger tourist engagement with the UAE's diverse attractions.
