Consumers have reported that many stores have recently extended their 'Black Friday' sales in various sectors, such as furniture, clothing, and shoes, both in shopping malls and in shops located in external markets, for longer periods than usual compared to previous years. They confirmed to 'Emirates Today' that this move gave them more opportunities to benefit from discounts ranging between 25% and 70%, especially since many families prefer to shop through multiple visits to 'malls'. On their part, officials in sales outlets mentioned that this trend is driven by increasing competitiveness among stores and the desire to boost sales during a period that witnesses significant momentum in markets, due to an increase in tourist traffic and the coincidence of holiday and festive seasons. This encourages stores to extend the duration of their unusual offers. In detail, consumer Jamal Amer stated that he recently noticed a number of stores, both inside and outside shopping malls, extending their 'Black Friday' sales. He pointed out that this is unusual, but it allows families greater opportunities to shop comfortably at different times. Consumer Hazem Kamal, on the other hand, said he was surprised by the continuation of discounts on clothing, shoes, furniture, and home furnishings ranging from 25% to 70%, considering it a positive phenomenon that gives consumers wide options. Consumer Huda Nasser stated that extending the offers for longer periods provides a greater opportunity for families to shop at different times, especially since many prefer to make multiple visits to shopping malls, confirming that the extension is much better than limiting offers to specific days. For his part, the sales manager at one retail outlet, Dilip Vishal, said that extending 'Black Friday' discounts in various sectors is due to stores' desire to maintain the momentum and attract more consumers, especially with the increase in tourist activity during the current holiday season. The sales manager at one furniture and home furnishings store, Ricky Knighton, believes that the increased competitiveness and high turnout from shoppers have pushed many stores to extend their 'Black Friday' sales in an unusual manner, aiming to increase sales and boost their market shares before the end of the year. A sales manager at one clothing store, Mohammad Idris, stated that markets are witnessing remarkable activity during this period due to school holidays and festive seasons, in addition to the growing number of tourists, which encouraged stores to extend their 'Black Friday' offers. He pointed out that this trend comes amidst the strong competitiveness witnessed in the retail sector and the stores' pursuit to increase their sales and market shares. Consumers confirmed that the extension gives them wider opportunities to benefit from the discounts.
