The Dubai Film Industry Development Committee, affiliated with the Dubai Media Council, held its first meeting at the Council's headquarters to discuss the general framework for the committee's operations and the various pathways to achieving its strategic objectives. This aligns with the vision of enhancing Dubai's position as a global hub for media and content creation, and a primary attraction for talents and filmmakers from across the region and the world. In this context, the Secretary-General of the Dubai Media Council, Nahal Badri, emphasized the vital role of the committee and its contribution to realizing the leadership's vision for the future of Dubai's creative economy and building a knowledge-based economy founded on creativity and technology. During the meeting, the Chairman of the Dubai Film Industry Development Committee, Essam Kazim, stated that the committee will work on activating all necessary components to achieve the targeted growth level for Dubai's film sector, with special attention given to empowering national talents. The committee will also focus on activating its role as an integrated platform that supports cooperation between the public and private sectors within a framework that keeps pace with global developments in the film industry and elevates Dubai's standing in the digital revolution era. He added: 'The committee will immediately begin to define the basic frameworks for its work in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 targets, focusing on providing quality services to facilitate production and filming processes, as well as specialized training programs and platforms to support young filmmakers, opening wider avenues for promising talents to grow and develop, which will cement Dubai's pioneering status in the film industry and as a global center for content creation.' During the meeting, the Vice-Chairman of the Dubai Film Industry Development Committee, Hisham Al-Ilm, noted that the careful selection of committee members by the Dubai Media Council is a cornerstone that enables the committee to achieve the film sector's strategic goals. He highlighted that the integration of roles represented in the committee will contribute to fostering a model environment that affirms Dubai's status as a preferred destination for filmmakers from around the world and increases the potential for attracting investments to this sector, thereby expanding the horizons of its development and prosperity.
