This helped it to counter the funding slump seen in other emerging markets. According to data provider Magnitt, nearly half of the venture capital deployed in the region during the year came from international investors, setting a new record. Startups in the region secured $3.8 billion through 688 deals in 2025, a 74% increase compared to the previous year, according to Magnitt data. The UAE and Saudi Arabia attracted the bulk of this attention.
