Etihad Airways transported 22.4 million passengers in 2025, a 21% increase year-on-year, driven by sustained demand and measured growth in capacity across its expanding global network. The airline's annual seat occupancy rate reached 88.3%, up two percentage points from 2024, reflecting strong commercial performance throughout the year. Etihad concluded 2025 with a strong performance, carrying 2.2 million passengers in December, a 28% increase compared to the same month in 2024. The seat occupancy rate for this month stood at 87.6%, maintaining high utilization rates during the peak travel season at the end of the year. At the end of 2025, Etihad Airways' fleet comprised 127 aircraft, after adding 29 new planes in 2025, marking the company's largest annual expansion in its history. This growth included the introduction of Airbus A321LR aircraft, which expanded the range of premium services to include more short and medium-haul flights, supporting the airline's continuous network expansion. According to the airline, Etihad's growth in 2025 accounted for nearly 40% of the total passenger growth in the United Arab Emirates, reflecting the company's pivotal role in supporting Abu Dhabi's tourism and economic ambitions. Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Airways, stated that 2025 was a year of sustained growth for Etihad, which carried over 22 million passengers—the highest annual figure in its history—while maintaining high occupancy rates and exceptional operational performance throughout the year. He added that concluding the year with a record-breaking December reflects customers' confidence in the company's products and services.
