Amidst the growing global demand for eco-desert tourism, Sharjah continues to solidify its position as a leading destination in developing resorts that blend luxury with environmental preservation. This initiative is led by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) through the 'Sharjah Hospitality Group', which manages seven specialized hotels spread across the Central Region and cities on the East Coast. These locations include desert, heritage, and natural sites, featuring a total of 154 luxury accommodation units designed with strict environmental standards that preserve the place's identity and minimize environmental impact. Ahmed Obaid Al-Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, stated in an interview with 'Al-Khaleej' that this approach relies on architectural designs inspired by the local environment and the use of sustainable materials.
