«Cooperative Union» has announced discounts on 3000 items, with discounts of up to 60%, as part of its initiatives for the upcoming month of Ramadan. The CEO of the Cooperative, Mohammed Al Hashemi, said during a press conference yesterday, that «Ramadan discount campaigns will include basic foodstuffs such as rice, oils, flour, sugar, poultry, eggs, dates, as well as fresh and frozen products, in addition to various consumer goods», noting that «the offers that will be launched on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan will focus on providing Ramadan essentials at competitive prices in all Cooperative branches, and via its e-store and smart app». He added: «The Cooperative will fix the prices of about 160 basic consumer goods, to ensure price stability throughout the fasting month», pointing out that the Ramadan campaigns come within the «Family Year» initiative. Al Hashemi informed that the Cooperative has launched a special Ramadan campaign titled «More Ramadan blessings on your table», which will continue until March 23rd, explaining that «the mechanism for participating in the campaign is by shopping for a value of 150 dirhams from the branches or the e-store, and scanning the (تميز) account through the Cooperative app, to automatically enter the customer into weekly and monthly draws». The draws include a weekly draw for 10 winners, each receiving 1000 dirhams in the digital wallet, and a monthly draw for two car winners. He confirmed that «the Cooperative has a role in supporting food security and local products, through cooperation with more than 33 local farms, including traditional, organic, and aquaculture farms, in addition to a global supply network to provide fresh vegetables and fruits throughout the month of Ramadan». He confirmed that «work is currently underway to enhance the stock of products in all Cooperative branches». Al Hashemi confirmed to «Emirates Today» on the sidelines of the conference that «the Cooperative intends to continue the initiative to fix the prices of goods until the end of the current year», and revealed that the Cooperative has plans to expand in different areas in Dubai in the coming period, noting that the Cooperative has recently expanded two of its outlets in Dubai.
