The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the achievement of its internally designed and developed One-Way Data System, which has resulted in financial savings of over AED 13 million, alongside enhancing information security levels and increasing the reliability of operational networks.
The system, which is currently in use in DEWA's Production sector and is patented in Luxembourg, allows for the secure and efficient transfer of data in only one direction—from control systems in power generation and water desalination plants to a common central platform. This platform serves as a massive database that has enabled the authority to develop several smart systems that leverage this data, such as the Smart Plants System and the Virtual Engineer System.
The platform provides users with a comprehensive, integrated, and interactive view of the status of operations and equipment, which contributes to precise data analysis and faster decision-making to improve operational performance. Furthermore, these systems allow users to access their outputs 24/7 from anywhere via smart devices.
