The company announced in a disclosure to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange that it has received a notice from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and OMV Aktiengesellschaft stating the completion of the merger between the two companies. Borouge PLC announced the completion of its merger with Borealis. The acquisition contributes to the group becoming the fourth largest polyolefin company in the world in terms of capacity. ADNOC and OMV Aktiengesellschaft announced in March 2025 their agreement on the terms of a binding framework agreement for the proposed merger between the two companies, to establish the international Borouge group, which will subsequently acquire Nova Chemicals in North America for 49.2 billion dirhams.
