In this context, the Minister confirmed that the UAE, under the wise directives of its leadership, has focused on building an advanced infrastructure for food security based on global best practices, which has contributed to the development and growth of the food industry, and improving the efficiency and readiness of the production capacity of food factories and companies. This aligns with the country's vision to enhance the leadership and competitiveness of the food security system at both regional and global levels. He stated that the flour industry in the UAE is witnessing remarkable development, as local mills, such as the Great Mills, contribute to meeting the needs of the local market efficiently, in addition to enhancing the presence of Emirati food products in external markets, which reflects the competitiveness of this vital sector and its ability to support the country's food security system, and enhance the sustainability of food supply chains. He added that the state has adopted a proactive approach in managing strategic stockpiles and supply chains to ensure the continuity and efficient flow of goods and food products in the markets. In this regard, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, in cooperation with local economic departments and relevant authorities, monitors the stock levels at suppliers and sales points on a daily basis, conducts detailed analyses of the sufficiency level for each commodity, and carries out periodic assessments of the strategic stockpiles of basic commodities and supply and demand operations.
