
Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) in Dubai, dedicated to advancing the aviation industry, has inked a deal with International Energy Resources (IER) to establish a modern MRO and engine test cell facility at Dubai South.
Larry J. Howie, Chairman & CEO of IER MRO Industries DWC LLC, expressed excitement about the collaboration, marking their 22-year presence in Dubai and the launch of this new facility. The project will be completed in two phases by Q4 2026 and Q3 2027.
Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, emphasized the significance of the agreement, stating it enriches their portfolio with key partners, solidifying Dubai's global aviation standing. The partnership aims to enhance capabilities and provide top-notch maintenance solutions.
MBRAH serves as a high-level connectivity platform for global aerospace entities and is a preferred free zone for top airlines, private jet companies, MROs, and associated industries. The hub aligns with Dubai's ambition to be a premier aviation center. The new MRO facility underscores their commitment to industry requirements and innovation.
IER specializes in energy and gas turbine solutions, offering engineering, production support, and maintenance services. The upcoming 880,000 square-feet facility will focus on gas turbine engine component manufacturing, repairs, overhauls, and testing. It will be based in Dubai South, housing maintenance centers and educational campuses.
The highlight of the facility will be a unique engine test cell capable of testing both Aero Engines and Aero-Derivative Industrial Engines, with a starting capacity of up to 50 engines annually.
