The company "Alitalia" announced yesterday its financial results for the first nine months, ending September 30, 2024. The net profit after tax was 1.4 billion dirhams, an increase of 66% compared to the previous year. The company noted that total revenue grew by 21% to 18.4 billion dirhams for the first nine months of the current year compared to last year, which was 15.1 billion dirhams. This growth was primarily due to an increase in the number of passengers and air travel, as well as successful strategies for expanding the company's route network, along with significant growth in the overall cargo sector, particularly in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Revenue from passengers increased by 21%, reaching 15.2 billion dirhams, thanks to a strategic expansion of the network initiated, as well as an increase in the number of flights, which strengthened the connectivity provided by the company. "Alitalia" transported about 14 million passengers in the first nine months of 2024, increasing the number of passengers by 35% compared to the previous year. Revenue from cargo increased to three billion dirhams, an increase of 21% compared to the previous year due to increased capacity and cargo volumes, as well as revenue growth.

General Director of "Alitalia" Antonio Neves stated: "We are pleased to announce our strong results for the first nine months of 2024, with a passenger revenue growth of 21% and a net profit after tax increasing by 66% compared to the same period in 2023. This significant growth is driven by strong results in passenger and cargo revenue." He added: "We continue to strengthen our experienced fleet of aircraft with the introduction of six new A321 NEO aircraft. Despite the ongoing aircraft shortage worldwide, our fleet grew to 95 aircraft in the first nine months of the current year, increasing by 16 aircraft compared to the same period last year." Neves emphasized: "The number of passengers over the last 12 months reached about 18 million, which indicates an increase of 80% compared to 2022, confirming our stable and sustainable growth over the past two years."
