Dubai has emerged as the top global destination for hotel stays according to Google Travel Indicators. The emirate achieved a perfect score of 100 in search interest, surpassing major cities like London and New York. With a substantial increase in international tourist arrivals, Dubai maintained strong demand throughout 2024, especially during the holiday season, showcasing its appeal as a leading tourist destination.

Dubai ranked first among the world's tourist destinations in inquiries for hotel stays in December of last year, according to the "Travel Index" by Google, based on the number of global search queries. According to this data, Dubai surpassed other global destinations such as London, Paris, New York, Bangkok, Tokyo, Barcelona, and others, by attaining 100 points in the index. The emirate also made it to the list of key global tourist destinations based on the growth rate of inquiries.

Dubai secured second place in the global index of inquiries for airlines. The data indicated that the emirate continued to show significant growth throughout the past year, holding the top three spots in indices for hotel stays and airlines for the entire year. Dubai was also the first in the list of most sought-after destinations for tourists from the Indian market, and second only to New York among British tourists in December.

Google's "Travel Index" provided a clear picture of the main sources of inquiries for tourist destinations and popular places for visits. Dubai demonstrated strong tourist activity in December of the past year during New Year's celebrations, topping the list of the largest and most popular global tourist destinations in terms of hotel occupancy levels in December 2024, reaching an overall occupancy rate of 80.2%, according to data from Amadeus.

Dubai experienced a significant increase in December 2024, exceeding the most popular tourist destinations in the world, showing strong indicators during New Year's Eve, with an overall occupancy of hotels at 93.7%, according to the words of the "Costar" company, specializing in data and analysis of the hotel market. According to the latest statistical data on tourist activity and international tourist arrivals, published by the Department of Economics and Tourism, the emirate attracted more than 16.79 million international tourists over 11 months of 2024, which is 9% more than the comparable period of 2023.
