As part of the 13th annual Arts and Design Festival "سكة" in Dubai, under the patronage of Sheikh Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, a diverse program of master classes and discussions is presented. The event takes place in the historic district of Shindagha and is organized by the Dubai Department of Culture with the aim of creating a sustainable creative environment to support and stimulate talent development in the field of arts.
The festival, which started on January 13 and runs until February 9, features more than 450 master classes and discussions covering art, design, architecture, visual literature, as well as crafts. This is part of the strategy "Quality of Life in Dubai," aimed at supporting cultural and creative sectors of the community.
Throughout the festival, the spaces and halls of the museum in Shindagha—the largest heritage museum in the UAE—transform into creative spaces. Master classes are held in various crafts, such as gypsum carving or making decorated pottery. Visitors can also participate in activities dedicated to traditional crafts.
Festival visitors have the chance to showcase their creative skills in various master classes focused on graffiti, digital imagery, as well as contemporary technologies in the arts. Additionally, events aimed at stimulating sustainability and innovation are organized, along with signposting of contemporary print and design technologies.
