Open to government employees and university students aiming to promote workplace skills and well-being, the initiative focuses on innovative solutions for future HR challenges.


Dubai Launches Inaugural Research Awards 2025

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has announced the launch of the inaugural edition of its 'Research Awards' with the aim to enhance scientific research, human capital development, and investment. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with four prestigious universities: Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, and Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai.

The 'Research Awards 2025' is open to students from the participating universities and Dubai government employees. It is designed to promote research on important topics such as workplace skills and lifelong learning, human resources management challenges and future scenarios, human resources systems and policies in Dubai Government, and employee wellbeing in the work environment.

Dr. Mansoor Alawar, Chancellor of HBMSU, underscored the significance of the award's launch in advancing scientific research and innovation to shape the future of human capital in alignment with the national vision 'We Are the UAE 2031' and the talent attraction strategy.

Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of DGHR Department, highlighted that the award reflects the Dubai Government's vision to foster a forward-looking and innovative human resources ecosystem. The award aims to enhance policies and workplace environments by encouraging researchers to submit papers that support human capital management strategies.

The winner of the research award will receive a cash prize of AED 25,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a commemorative shield. Their research paper will also be published in scientific journals. DGHR has set specific evaluation criteria for the research submissions based on innovation, originality, clarity, methodology precision, quality of analysis, and the impact of research on elevating the government work environment.

DGHR invites eligible researchers and professionals to join this unique initiative, aimed at fostering sustainability and innovation in the HR domain. The submission period for the research works is from February to August 2025, with the prize announcement scheduled for October 2025.

Dr. Yousef Al Assaf, President of RIT Dubai, emphasized the importance of leveraging advanced technology for innovation and creativity to meet market demands and enhance institutional and strategic effectiveness. The partnership with the university aims to create an integrated business ecosystem with the public and private sectors.
