The airline flydubai was marked by two awards at the annual ceremony of the Aviation Achievement Awards. The event gathered interested parties from the travel and aviation sectors. The awards came as recognition of the airline's achievements, confirmed by its growing and diverse network of routes, as well as its ongoing investment in improving the customer experience both in the air and on the ground.
Fransua Oberholzer, financial director of flydubai, noted: "We are committed to innovation, and our primary focus remains on customer orientation." The company was awarded the title "Airline of the Year" for the second consecutive time, and also received the "Pioneers' Call for Outstanding Launch of a New Service." Oberholzer accepted the awards for the airline alongside Rashid Al-Mahri, vice-president of cargo operations, and Diana Sinclaire, vice-president of in-flight services, at the ceremony in Dubai.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, flydubai has improved its professional offerings, completing enhancements in products by the end of 2024. In October 2024, the company will introduce a new business-class check-in area, and in December, it opened a new business lounge at Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport. The company reported on its best annual results in 15 years, with record revenue reaching 2.5 billion dirhams (674 million dollars) by the end of 2024.
Particularly noteworthy is the statement of the company’s financial director: "Recently, new directions have been emerging, and we expect that we will be able to expand our customer base due to a convenient and pleasant travel experience, strengthening Dubai's position as a global tourist and aviation hub."
