Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the U.S. Electric Power Research Institute are enhancing cooperation in renewable energy training, focusing on sustainability and innovation.


Collaboration Boosts Renewable Energy Training in Dubai

Wants to improve collaboration in the field of education in renewable energy sources, grid modernization, and solutions for energy storage between Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the American Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (AIEE), which operates in the field of research and development in the energy sector.

The meeting took place between the Director of Operations of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al-Tayer, and the senior representative of AIEE, including the president and general director of the institute, Inshad Mansurah. It discussed how to better collaborate in the field of research and development, sustainability, and innovation in the energy sector.

From DEWA's side, the meeting also included the Vice President for Business Development and Engineering, Walid bin Salman, and the senior manager for solar energy, engineer Haneem Al-Kasim.

Al-Tayer emphasized the importance of collaboration with leading research and innovation centers for the development of local human resources and transferring skills and experience on the path to achieving a leading status in climate affairs, accelerating the transition to clean energy and digital transformation, and their roles in achieving sustainability and alignment with global goals.

DEWA and AIEE plan to develop specialized training programs in various fields, including smart grids, energy efficiency, management of distributed resources, cybersecurity, sustainability of the electric energy sector, data analysis, renewable energy systems integration, and other aspects important for active employee participation of DEWA in creating a sustainable future.
