Dubai's Initiatives for Environmental Sustainability

One of the important initiatives aimed at preserving natural resources for future generations is participating in similar events. I am proud to be part of this permanent work. The most pleasant for me was the feeling of achievement that we all experienced upon seeing the results. I am glad to see that every year the number of participants is increasing, and we achieve amazing results that exceed expectations.

Participants noted that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is one of the leading institutions, taking on the responsibility of implementing national initiatives for the preservation of natural resources, increasing awareness among all members of society of their ecological and social responsibility, as well as involving them in ecological programs and events.

Noor Ibrahim Saad, a senior engineer in the business development and quality sector in the department, said: "The organization of events for planting mangroves and cleaning the beach in the marine reserve of Jebel Ali was filled with achievements and enthusiasm, requiring clear coordination between volunteers and employees. We faced challenges such as changing weather conditions but the joint efforts resulted in greater success, where participants collected trash from the beach and enthusiastically planted mangroves, which contributes to the restoration of ecosystems and increases ecological awareness."

The campaigns of the department contribute to the preservation of our nature, as well as strengthening social solidarity and cooperation. They have been organizing ecological events for planting mangroves and cleaning the beach of the marine reserve of Jebel Ali for many years, together with the Emirates group for the protection of the marine environment, involving their employees and families and employees of some subsidiary companies, as well as groups of students from the Department Academy.

These campaigns help improve the quality of water and marine habitats in the reserve, as well as increase the number of mangroves, which are considered natural carbon reserves.

Enthusiasts participating in ecological campaigns organized by the department note the positive ecological activities of the department and encourage their involvement in their ecological and volunteer responsibilities, as well as ensure the possibility for them to contribute positively.

Mahmoud Said, the hospitality, restaurant, and export sector in MyDubai, one of the subsidiary companies of the department, said: "I am glad to participate in the campaigns of the department and contribute to the preservation of the surrounding environment and strengthening mangroves, which are key instruments of natural adaptation to climate change."

Ahmed Abdallah Abdulrahim Al-Amri, a senior engineer in the water and civil construction sector in the department, said: "I accepted participation in the campaign for planting mangroves, which helps support biodiversity, and I can confirm that the initiatives of the department reflect its keen aspiration to achieve sustainable development goals and strengthen the sustainability of the surrounding environment and the mangrove forests. This experience reaffirmed the importance of collective work and the influence of public volunteer initiatives on achieving the goals of sustainable development for the emirate of Dubai."

Jafar Ayabali, a senior electrician in the energy distribution sector in the department, said: "I was glad to see the commitment of the department to ecological sustainability, where this initiative contributed to the protection of our beautiful beaches and increasing awareness of the importance of preserving natural environments and wildlife."

Nura Mohamed Hamid Rashid Al-Suwaydi, a senior engineer in the water and civil construction sector in the department, said: "I had a great experience before participating in the campaign for planting mangroves and cleaning the beach of the marine park Jebel Ali, my participation contributed to the expansion of my knowledge of the importance of mangroves, which have a high ability to absorb carbon, as well as the importance of the marine plants we collected, which are valuable resources and can be used for the production of organic fertilizers, which helps reduce the use of synthetic fertilizers, as well as for the production of bioplastics and other products. I eagerly await the continuation of support for such goal-oriented initiatives."
