Orchestra Firdous, the initiative of the Al Ain Embassy and the first full women's orchestra in the United Arab Emirates, concluded its first season of the concert series "Firdous Nights" with a magnificent artistic performance dedicated to world operatic music. The final performance featured Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and included the participation of three world-renowned operatic singers: Emirati artist Fatima Al Hashmi, Serbian soprano Anna Kovačević, and Russian opera diva Alina Vasina, each of whom performed powerful compositions and collaborative foreign operatic arias on the Vassilya stage, equipped with the latest sound and lighting effects in the world.
The Firdous Orchestra, consisting of more than 50 talented musicians from 24 different countries, presented the program "Firdous Nights" last November, giving a concert featuring world-class classical musical pieces, and also in January in honor of the Lunar New Year according to the Chinese calendar. The third concert took place over two days during Ramadan, when guests enjoyed everlasting Arabic melodies and a performance by the sister Aiyub. These concerts attracted considerable attention from a diverse audience of various nationalities and ages, which aligns with the goals of the initiative to promote the culture of orchestral music across all segments of society and stimulate the interest and participation of the younger generation in this unique music.
The Firdous Orchestra was established at Expo 2020 in Dubai and collaborated with famous international stars such as operatic singer Andrea Bocelli, holder of several Grammy musical awards, and popular singer Beyoncé.
