Arab Media Award Ceremony Set for May 27

The Arab Media Committee announced that the winners will be recognized at the Arab Media Summit, which will take place on May 27. The awards ceremony will be held in the presence of prominent media figures and Arab journalists.

The awards include three categories: journalism, digital media, and television. The "Best Columnist" will also be honored based on certain criteria.

The Arab Media Awards are organized within the framework of the Arab Media Summit, which will also include the third forum of Arab youth media on May 26, following the 23rd session of the Arab Media Forum on May 27 and 28, as well as the summit of Arab influential figures in social media.

It is noted that the nominations for the awards include media institutions, journalists, and writers from the Arab world. Muna Ghanim Al-Marri, the chairwoman of the committee, expressed gratitude to all participants in the successful conclusion of the award and its stages, which ultimately determined the winners.

At the virtual meeting of the committee, chaired by Muna Ghanim Al-Marri, various stages of evaluation and selection were discussed, which took place in accordance with established criteria for ensuring integrity and transparency.

She emphasized that this year was characterized by a larger volume and diversity of applications from across the Arab world, which were rigorously assessed by independent qualified committees.

The award for "Media Personality of the Year," awarded by the committee, highlights an influential media figure in the Arab world, whose work has significantly impacted the media landscape of the region.

Al-Marri noted that the award not only recognizes excellence and encourages creativity but also reflects Dubai's vision of media as a force for human development.

The awards will be presented at the Arab Media Awards summit, the award for influential Arab figures in social media, and the Ibda’a Award – the Arab Youth Media Award.

Secretary of the Arab Media Awards Society Mayta Buhumayd emphasized that the development of the award is a continuous process, with regular updates to its structure and categories in response to rapidly changing media landscapes.

In the journalism category, awards include recognition for political journalism, investigative materials, and economic journalism. The television nominations include awards for best economic program, best social program, best cultural program, best sports program, and best documentary film.
