The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation held a special screening of the film «Specters of That Light» about the poet Sultan Al Owais, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of his birth. The screening took place at the Max cinema in Wafi Center in Dubai. Before the screening, the film's director, Nadjem Al Ghanem, thanked everyone involved in the film's production. She spoke about the challenges of working with archival material and transforming it into a living narrative by blending it with contemporary reality. The participants created a panoramic portrait of Sultan Al Owais through their testimonies, which covered his life, poetry, business, and charitable work, as well as the origins of the Al Owais Cultural Award. The 60-minute film was met with great appreciation from the audience, who praised Nadjem Al Ghanem's work for its unique artistic vision. The film begins with a general outline of Sultan Al Owais's face, which gradually develops color as more testimonies from the film's characters are introduced. By the end of the screening, the portrait becomes fully defined, as if it were an audiovisual painting of Sultan Al Owais, with the colors and voice-overs of each character contributing to the final image.
