Abdallah Al Dardri, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Regional Director of the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Bureau for Arab States, praised the exceptional level presented by the summit this year, confirming that the partnership between the Programme and the Foundation has established a world-class model to emulate in investing in knowledge as a driving force for development.
The summit witnessed the announcement of the results of the Global Knowledge Index for 2025, with Switzerland topping the list of countries worldwide, followed by Singapore in second place and Sweden in third. Among Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates ranked first, followed by Saudi Arabia in second, and Qatar in third.
Jamal bin Huwaireb: The 2025 Knowledge Summit, organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme in Dubai in its tenth edition under the theme 'Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities', witnessed wide participation from top knowledge leaders, thought pioneers, academic experts, and ministers from around the world, as well as a significant public turnout exceeding 35,000 people, whether in person or through digital follow-up via the summit's website.
The tenth edition featured a rich program of discussions and dialogue sessions that addressed the future of knowledge and its growing role in enhancing sustainable development and envisioning its future, in addition to exploring ways to empower communities with the tools of the digital age and advanced technologies, which consolidates Dubai's and the UAE's status as a global hub for knowledge production and innovation, and a preferred destination for creative minds and distinguished talents, presented by more than 200 speakers through 58 sessions and activities, alongside the participation of 14 international organizations in various fields.
