Dubai's Culture and Arts in the Spotlight

Dubai's Culture and Arts Authority announced the launch of the fifth season of the 'Hatta Cultural Nights' festival, taking place from December 20, 2025, to January 1, 2026, in the Hatta Heritage Village. The festival aims to offer visitors a diverse range of cultural and heritage experiences, encouraging them to explore the region's rich history, nature, and authentic culture, thereby enhancing its position on the tourism map.

The festival's program includes a series of heritage activities and artistic performances reflecting the area's original culture. These feature folkloric and artistic shows by specialized troupes, as well as music sessions on traditional instruments like the rabab and oud, circus acts, soap bubble and balloon displays, and a variety of interactive workshops, including a 'Traditional Coffee' workshop and a 'Star Observatory'.

A key component of the event is a artisans' market showcasing traditional handicrafts. This market provides a platform for local producers and creative talents to develop their cultural, artistic, and economic projects and present their work to the public, contributing to the support of creative and cultural industries in Dubai.

Furthermore, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority is organizing a session titled 'The Reality of the Novel in the Arab World' as part of its 'Library Talks' initiative. This event, to be held at the Safa Arts and Design Library on December 18, will feature prominent writers and intellectuals discussing the state of the Arabic novel, its evolution, and key challenges. A workshop on 'Novel Writing Techniques' will also be conducted.

In a recent achievement, the authority was honored with a prestigious award from the Arab Council for the General Union of Arab Archaeologists in recognition of its distinguished efforts in preserving cultural heritage. This accolade is a testament to the work of the authority's teams in conducting surveys and excavations at numerous archaeological sites in Dubai, leading to the discovery of over 25,000 artifacts. These efforts highlight Dubai's ancient roots, dating back over 120,000 years.
