On the centenary of his birth, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature celebrates the legacy of Emirati poet Sultan bin Ali Al-Uwais, showcasing key moments from his life, cultural and humanitarian journey, and his pioneering role in supporting Arab creativity through his leading cultural institution. This is highlighted in a special session that recalls his profound impact on the literary and national scenes. The session features writers and researchers: Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Dr. Abdelkhaleq Abdullah, and Yousuf Al-Hassan. Al-Uwais established the Al-Uwais Cultural Foundation in 1987, ensuring it remains a prestigious platform for Arab intellectuals and thinkers.
