Director General of Dubai Culture, Hala Badri, visited the 14th Al Quoz Arts Festival, met with creative competition winners, and viewed unique art installations. The festival fosters Dubai's cultural scene and supports emerging artists.


Dubai's Al Quoz Arts Festival Supports Local Talent

Dubai Culture's Director General, Hala Badri, met with a group of artists participating in the Al Quoz Arts Festival, alongside the winners of the Al Quoz Creative Leadership Competition. They included Hamd Khoury, founder of 'Badaous', a company specializing in digital games inspired by local heritage; Sofia Khameldai, founder of 'Art Dab' platform, which organizes art workshops, film evenings, and cultural events; and Nizar Ahmad, founder and CEO of the MADE platform, specializing in music, art, entertainment, and empowering creators in the UAE. Badri praised the diversity of works presented at the festival, which reflect creative visions contributing to the cultural and creative industries. The visit is part of Dubai Culture's commitment to supporting talents and creators across all artistic sectors, in line with its mission to establish Dubai as a global hub for the creative economy. The festival's agenda, organized by Alserkal Avenue with the strategic support of Dubai Culture and Al Quoz Creative, features a wide range of events, musical performances, unique cultural experiences, installations, art and entertainment workshops, cultural dialogues, food culture celebrations, and other activities. During her tour, Badri viewed various art installations, including 'Type Dubai' by NUMEN/For Use, embodying concepts of freedom and joy, and reflecting the positive impact of creativity on individuals and society. She also followed the 'Flow – Dream City' visual installation by circus artist Jean-Baptiste André and visual artist Vincent Lamouroux. Additionally, Badri visited the 'In the Space of Formation' exhibition at Aisha Alabbar Gallery, where artist Aliya Louth showcased her new works combining painting, photography, and sculpture in a unique visual language. She also attended a performance by 'Shabab' featuring four musicians at the 0.2 stage, which also included a series of dialogue sessions organized by the leading 'Afrika' platform in media and education.
